Contemporary Chinese Dance is a dance art form that combines traditional Chinese dance with modern dance concepts. It preserves the essence of classical and folk Chinese dance while incorporating modern and contemporary elements to creatively express the spirit of contemporary Chinese culture.
In the 1980s, influenced by Western modern dance, the Chinese dance community began exploring the integration of traditional and modern dance styles. Entering the 21st century, Contemporary Chinese Dance has become increasingly focused on personal expression, experimentation, and cross-cultural exchange, evolving into a distinctive art form on the international dance stage.
